Partners can engage with customers who have Exchange on premise or other products to help them to experience the full value of Microsoft Teams. Upon successful introduction to Teams Essentials, partners can engage with customers to explore business cases that drive customers to buy premium SKU’s or attach services.
Microsoft Teams Essentials will be available thru web-direct and partners. They will use different identities; MSA is used in web-direct and AAD is used in a partner. Providing Teams Essentials with AAD identity enables partners with the same experience they have with Microsoft 365 subscriptions including administration, upsell, etc.
The offer that partners can sell will be called Microsoft Teams Essentials (AAD Identity). The one in web-direct will be called Microsoft Teams Essentials.

Yes, the users can have a single calendar view. They should be able to join Teams meetings from either the 3rd party calendar or Teams calendar.

There are three different use cases to connect Teams Essentials with your current mail account to enable Calendar function and email meeting invites. These are as follows:

Yes, it is possible to migrate existing file server to Teams Essentials.
No, in order to switch an ADD environment is needed. Therefore, the customer would need to set up the new environment and migrate their files. The team’s Channels and old Chat conversations will be lost.
